The Confederation of Passenger Transport UK (CPT) is recognised as the lead voice in promoting the interests of the [mainland] UK's coach and bus industry at all political levels.
We are the focus for consultation and negotiation on national, European and International legislation, local regulations, operational practices and engineering standards.
Whether we are negotiating on legislation with Ministers in Westminster, Cardiff or Edinburgh, European Directives in Strasbourg, or on more day-to-day matters with Local Authorities, CPT's team of experienced public affairs specialists actively ensure members' voices are heard and their interests safeguarded.
Members directly benefit from the relationships CPT has developed with Ministers, politicians and policy advisors at all levels. We are consulted on changes to legislation and policy, and therefore ensure that members' voices are heard and interests safeguarded, right at the heart of Government.
CPT's specialist Communications Team promotes our members' services and represents them when under attack.
In addition to our 24/7 Crisis Control service, the Team seeks to secure positive coverage of members' services, gaining maximum publicity for their many successes up and down the country.
